A NEW REGIONAL SPORTS COMPLEX
Finally, East St. Tammany will enjoy what the rest of the parish has had for years…a sports complex to call its own. Camellia Bay and P2E have guaranteed $35 million to build a state-of-the-art, regional sports park in our community – the first of its kind in East St. Tammany.
The sports complex will offer first-class sports, recreation and fitness facilities that are not only close to home, but will attract athletes from across the country for tournaments and events. The complex will be independent of Camellia Bay and will be a permanent asset for our community.
URGENTLY NEEDED FLOOD CONTROL
During Hurricane Ida, many in Slidell experienced major flooding. Camellia Bay and P2E’s legally binding revenue sharing agreement with St. Tammany Parish will result in millions of dollars dedicated for flood protection and drainage improvements in East St. Tammany.
Dedicated Funds – These funds will allow the parish to dredge more canals and conduct de-snagging to better clear waterways.
Consistent Funds – St. Tammany Levee District, in conjunction with the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority and the Army Corps of Engineers, will be able to use these funds to improve flood protection and ecosystem restoration.
JOB GROWTH, WAGE GROWTH, BUSINESS GROWTH
In addition to the historic revenue-sharing agreement, Camellia Bay will bring a $325 million economic boom to our area. 1,700 jobs during construction and an additional 1,000 permanent jobs (with an average salary including benefits of $45,000 per year) will inject tens of millions in payroll into our local economy every two weeks. A higher income level in our community will lift property values.
Tourists will be drawn to our area and will shop in our stores, visit our local restaurants and enjoy all our community has to offer. Camellia Bay is committed to helping local businesses with their Point Partnership Program that allows customers to use reward credits at locally owned retailers.
How Millions in Casino Revenue Will Benefit our Community
Across the country, and within the state of Louisiana, communities hosting a development like Camellia Bay negotiate a community agreement.
This is a binding, legal agreement between the developer and the host community. It is designed to show community goodwill by investing in the surrounding area’s success and mitigate any impact to the community associated with a gaming-related project.
The historic 5% share of adjusted gross gaming revenue from Camellia Bay means $7.5 million to $9 million annually will be split among local government entities.

- LOCAL HIRING AND VENDOR SOURCING COMMITMENTS
